Can solar panels be installed in an existing home?
Yes solar water heating panels can be easily installed into most existing homes with little or no disruption. Your may also need to replace your hot water cylinder with an approved twin coil solar cylinder.
What temperature will the water be heated to?
In the summer the water in the cylinder can reach a temperature of 80 deg C and good quality insulation on the hot water cylinder will keep the water warm for hours.
What is the energy contribution of an Solar Water Heating System?
An average size installation will provide over 1932 kilowatt hours per year or up to 60% of total domestic hot water required.
Will it require regular servicing?
The Sonnenkraft system is designed to be virtually maintenance free and as part of the installation package we will give you a complete control and running guide.
Do I need planning permission?
Solar Water Heating Systems do not normally require planning permission, and typically fall within what is known as ‘permitted development rights’. However, if you are dealing with a house that has been divided into flats, or the building is listed or in a conservation area, you will need to check the council policy.
How long will it take to install?
Usually it will take 1-2 days to install the system dependant on the accessibility of the roof etc.
